There has been a massive online reaction to Monday’s bombshell announcement by Stuart Hogg that he will retire from playing at the end of the upcoming Rugby World Cup with Scotland. It’s clear from what was generally published that the 30-year-old is a very much loved full-back who will be hugely missed when he hangs up the boots.

Unless Scotland reach the quarter-finals, the last match that Hogg is currently scheduled to play in his stellar career will be on October 7 when the Scots take on Ireland in their final pool game in Paris.
