'10 years of hard work stolen in 10 minutes'- Sevens star needs help after theft
Former South Africa Sevens star Werner Kok has revealed that all of his Springbok Sevens jerseys were recently stolen and has asked for help from his followers on Twitter in recovering them.
The 28-year-old said that his "heart is heavy" after all his "achievements and special jerseys" from his time with the Blitzbokke were stolen from a storage facility in Cape Town. Across his career he earned a bronze medal at the 2016 Olympic Games, a Commonwealth gold medal in 2014 and an HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series title.
He has sent out an appeal on Twitter to help him find his possessions, saying "no amount of money will ever be able to replace this," and asked for those on social media to spread the word.
He wrote on Twitter on Friday: "I have been dreading making this tweet but I have to get the word out on the 1/12/2021 ALL of my Springbok Sevens jerseys (number 5) were stolen from a storage facility in CPT. 10 years of hard work stolen in 10 min. If you see or hear anything please please let me know.
"Everything is gone all my achievements and special jerseys from Commonwealth to Olympics and every tournament in-between my heart is heavy because no amount of money will ever be able to replace this. A legacy I wanted to show my children, just taken.
"No amount of money can buy this. Please keep sharing and spreading the word!"
Kok has switched his attention to the 15-man format recently, playing for the Cell C Sharks. He is set to start on the bench tonight in the rearranged fixture against fellow South African outfit the Vodacom Bulls in the United Rugby Championship.
The winger caught the eye of many British & Irish Lions fans earlier this year where he proved to be a handful in back-to-back games against the tourists.

Go to commentsA lot of bet hedging has gone on at England since Lancaster left. It frustrates me greatly when mercurial players are thrown into a conservative team and end up being dubbed not good enough for international rugby when they've never been given a fair crack of the whip.
