A chilling 15-minute video of the missing Levi Davis has emerged

A chilling social media video of Levi Davis has emerged more than three months after the former Bath and Ealing player went missing in Barcelona. The 24-year-old had posted the clip to his Instagram account shortly before his disappearance in Spain but it was soon deleted and has only now been retrieved by Line of Inquiry, the private investigator firm headed up by Gavin Burrows.

The 15-minute clip published by the Daily Mail, which was recorded before Davis vanished in late October, heard him claim he was being blackmailed by a criminal gang that threatened to murder him and his family. It started: “Hello, my name is Levi Davis, and my life is in danger… I beg that you listen and try to understand what I’m telling you.”

Davis went on to explain why he was being blackmailed, a revelation that coincided with last week’s report in a La Vanguardia, a Catalan newspaper, which claimed that former X-Factor contestant had allegedly racked up considerable debts to the Somali mafia in London. It suggested that the amount owed was around £100,000.

Referees clearly explain the new rugby laws for 2023

It is now 14 weeks since Davis, who had lately been playing his rugby for Worthing Raiders, was last spotted on CCTV in Barcelona leaving The Old Irish Pub in Barcelona.

His mother Julie spoke last month about an anonymous tip-off received by the family’s private investigator. “The person seemed cagey and didn’t say much other than he thought it was in relation to a gang or some falling out that could go back to 2020,” she said at the time.

“It’s all news to me. I knew Levi had difficulties with some people in Ealing. but I didn’t realise it was to this extent. It’s just a bit shocking.”

Davis had been taking break in Spain after a knee injury sidelined him from rugby at Worthing and he had arrived in Barcelona by ferry from Ibiza.
