Twenty-eight of the 36 players named by Steve Borthwick in the England squad for the upcoming Autumn Nations Series will start for their clubs in this weekend’s Gallagher Premiership. Five more have been chosen as replacements, leaving just three players – Saracens’ Ben Earl, Leicester’s George Martin and Exeter’s Henry Slade – not togging out.

Saracens reported on Friday that Earl, Borthwick’s first choice No8, “failed to recover from a minor knock” picked up at The Stoop in last Sunday’s loss to Harlequins and won’t be involved in this Saturday’s top of the table clash at Bristol.

Martin hasn’t played for Tigers since being subbed off late in the October 4 win at Newcastle. He was pulled from the October 7 England training camp as he was unable to train, but was included last Wednesday for next week's warm-weather camp in Girona ahead of the November 2 clash with New Zealand in London.

Slade, meanwhile, has been making his way back from the shoulder operation he underwent post the summer tour in Japan and New Zealand. He will link up with England at Pennyhill on Monday yet to play for Exeter this season and will fly out with them to Spain.

The five England players on replacement duty this weekend include Harlequins duo Chandler Cunningham-South and Joe Marler, who play host to Bath on Saturday, and Leicester’s Dan Cole, who have Gloucester at Welford Road on Sunday.

Also subbing will be England skipper Jamie George and his Saracens teammate Nick Isiekwe. They are on the bench at Ashton Gate on Saturday having started last Sunday at Quins.

In contrast, Northampton and Bath are starting all five of their respective England picks, with Sale rolling out their quartet – including the Curry twins. Here are the 10 teams named for all five Premiership round five matches:
