All Blacks continue to 'monitor' Will Jordan

All Blacks Coach Ian Foster has given assurances that the team will closely monitor Will Jordan's condition following the wing's impressive performance against South Africa in the recent clash.

The 25-year-old outside back showcased his brilliance during New Zealand's 35-20 victory over the world champion Springboks, scoring his 22nd try in as many Test Matches.

However, it has not been an easy journey for Jordan. He had to take a break from the national side in September 2022 due to debilitating migraines and vertigo symptoms during the Northern Hemisphere tour. Since then, the player has taken steps to manage his condition, and the team management has been supportive, diligently listening to him in the lead-up to the World Cup scheduled for September.

Foster disclosed that they had deliberately rested Jordan for the All Blacks' opening Rugby Championship game against Argentina to avoid extensive overseas travel. Instead, they allowed him to recover and make a seamless return to the Test scene.

“One of the things we didn’t want to put him through was a lot of extensive overseas travel,” Foster explained.

Despite the challenges, Jordan remains optimistic about his participation in the World Cup. "“It’s not really an issue on the field, it’s about managing things day to day," said Jordan.

As New Zealand aims to claim victory in this year's Rugby Championship, they are also focused on preparing for the upcoming World Cup, where they are drawn in Pool A alongside Italy, Uruguay, Namibia, and hosts France. Jordan's presence could undoubtedly play a crucial role in the All Blacks' pursuit of the trophy.
