All Blacks prop punished for breaking team protocol
All Blacks loosehead prop Ethan de Groot's omission from the team to face England at Twickenham is punishment for breaking team protocols.
Crusaders prop Tamaiti Williams will wear the No 1 jersey in De Groot's place as he sits out a one-week ban, with Blues prop Ofa Tu'ungafasi named as the reserve loosehead on the bench.
Just what exactly De Groot did is unclear, with head coach Scott Robertson stating internal standards had not been met and the reasons were "off-field related".
De Groot is the first All Black under Scott Robertson to be disciplined for breaking team protocol, the last being Mark Tele'a during last year's Rugby World Cup run where he was stood down for the quarter-final against Ireland.
First five-eighth Damian McKenzie wasn't disciplined for missing the team bus after the All Blacks faced Fiji in San Diego, however McKenzie had to make his own way to LAX to make the flight home.

Yes, the late & the great Dun Mihaka. He'd done it to Charles & Di in 1981 & went to trial over it in 1984. They got a browneyeful lol. He wrote a book about the trial. A great read.
Mihaka tried it again in 1986 when QE toured but was unsuccessful. The cops stopped him from getting close but some of his supporters chucked eggs at her. Apparently he was planning to ram her motorcade but his old van adorned with an enlarged photo of his bare behind & other such protest paraphernalia, was unsurprisingly easy for security to spot lmfao.
Buttock bearing is a ritual known as whakapohane, in Maori culture. It's the ultimate diss.

I don't want to speak out of turn here - but I would be hugely surprised if anyone in the NZ training camp gives a flying f__k what Marler said. Maybe I'm wrong.
And I'm sure Kiwis are a lot more thick-skinned than AG is suggesting.
In SA - we flew Airbuses, set off fireworks, turned up the disco base and downed 2 litre jugs of brandy and coke during the haka and it wasn't even nearly as bad as AG is suggesting. So I'm sure it's fine.
Yup!
Nope. ABS. 7.
