Amos injury a Six Nations concern for Wales
Hallam Amos is a doubt for the start of Wales' Six Nations campaign after suffering an ankle injury.
Versatile back Amos had to be helped off the field in Newport Gwent Dragons' Boxing Day defeat to Cardiff Blues and is expected to be out for up to six weeks.
The 23-year-old played in all four of Wales' November Internationals.
Warren Gatland's side begin their Six Nations against Scotland in Cardiff on February 3.
"We are just waiting to see if we can rehab it without operation," Newport head coach Bernard Jackman said after Sunday's 22-9 loss to Ospreys.
"We are liaising with the Welsh medics to see what is the best course of treatment but it's a five or six-week injury, that's the pessimistic outlook. Hopefully we can get him back for the Six Nations."
News of Amos' injury was absorbed somewhat by the returns of George North (knee) and Alex Cuthbert (calf). Both wings played as replacements this weekend for Northampton Saints and Cardiff Blues after over two months and six weeks on the sidelines respectively.

Agree we need a 10, 12, 13 refresh. ASAP. Well, next season now lol. Reiko should be put back on the wing. He'll be an absolute menace there. Imagine 11 Reiko 14 Clarke 15 Jordan as the backfield unit.
Go to commentsIt took a whole season to wash the Foster stink out to be fair. There's still been substantial change though. I think only 7 starters from the RWC QF v IRE started the IRE test in Dublin. This year wasn't the year for full innovation, transition needs to be balanced, & incremental. The new coaches will be able to stamp their full mark on the ABs from 2025 when Razor will select his first proper squad from a mega talented player pool. Exciting times ahead.
