Ashton omitted as Jones names 33-man England squad for Wales

England men’s head coach Eddie Jones has called up 33 players today to continue preparations for England’s third Guinness Six Nations match against Wales on Saturday.

Sale Sharks wing Chris Ashton is unlikely to take part in the match after suffering a lower limb injury.

The RFU state: 'Chris Ashton (Sale Sharks) will not join the squad due to a minor calf strain. He will spend the week rehabbing with his club.'

Loosehead Ellis Genge however will partake in the training squad despite suffering a minor injury last week. Genge reported a sore ankle so he was withdrawn from training last Thursday as a precaution.
