Beale's 'regret' at 'compromising position' following video leak
Wallabies utility back Kurtley Beale has expressed his 'regret' after being caught up in the latest NRL scandal.
He appeared in a leaked video which features an older man snorting a line of an unknown white substance off a dinner plate.
The video, which is believed to have been filmed in 2016, features NRL player Corey Norman, who was at Parramatta Eels at the time, egging on an older man snorting from the dinner plate, “That’s the young blood right there baby.
Norman boasts “Get it baby, get it” before panning round to Beale who is seen laughing on the couch.
Rugby Australia CEO Raelene Castle has reacted to the footage, saying in a statement on Tuesday: "Rugby Australia only became aware of the video after it had surfaced on social media on Monday afternoon, and understands that it was recorded in 2016,"

"After becoming aware that the vision was being shared on social media, Kurtley contacted me last night to apologise for the negative attention the video had attracted and expressed regret at putting himself in a compromising position at that time.
"Kurtley has today met with Rugby Australia’s Integrity Unit to provide his version of events, and the high standards that are expected of him as a professional Rugby player have been firmly reiterated.
"Kurtley acknowledges that his presence in the video and the humour he expressed at the incident at the time does not reflect the image that is expected of a professional rugby player."
During his time at Parramatta Eels, Norman was punished by the NRL Integrity Unit for a number of incidents including being charged with drugs possession and was seen consorting with underworld figures with a couple of other teammates.
Norman’s current team, the St George Dragons, released a statement saying they are aware of the video and informed the NRL Integrity Unit, while the Wallabies are yet to make a statement on Beale’s involvement.

McKenzie is better than Barrett , but not better than Richie Mo'unga. Richie regularly outplayed DMac in Super Rugby. , as he did in the 2023 Final in Hamilton. I remember the 2021 Aotearoa Super Rugby Final here in CHCH. Mo'unga took him to the cleaners. McKenzie is a fine footballer , but at best a hybrid 10 . Fergus Burke , ( now playing in England ), who made a big difference when he came back late in the Crusaders season , is a better 10 than DMac. I also think 140 game + Crusader Matt Todd was always a better no 7 than Sam Cane.A big part of 3 title winning teams when South African teams were still in the comp. How many titles did the Chiefs win in that period of time?
