Belfast club apologise over 'inappropriate' Jackson and Olding photo
Belfast club Malone RFC have apologised over an "inappropriate photo" that's emerged on social media.
Two of their players put the names of Paddy Jackson and Stuart Olding on their stomachs as they posed for a photo with a trophy in the aftermath of their McCrea Cup win at the Kingspan Stadium on Easter Monday.
The club say they have launched an investigation over the image.
In a statement Malone RFC said: "It has been brought to our attention that an inappropriate photograph involving Malone players has been posted on a private social media site.
"Malone was unaware of the photograph and will investigate how it occurred.
"The Club apologises for any offence caused by the contents of the photograph.
"A full investigation will now take place by Malone RFC."
In March a jury found Ulster Rugby players Jackson and Olding not guilty of rape at Laganside District Court.
The two, who were banned from playing pending the trial, had pleaded not guilty to charges over the alleged incident on June 28, 2016.
Flyhalf Jackson, 26, has been capped for Ireland 25 times and centre Olding, 24, has played four times.
It was alleged Jackson and Olding raped a 21-year-old student at a house party at Jackson’s house on the night of the 28 June, 2016.
Two other men had lesser charges brought against them in connection with the alleged incident.
Blane McIlroy (26) from Royal Lodge Road, Ballydollaghan, Belfast, was accused of one count of exposure, while Rory Harrison (25) from Manse Road, Belfast, was charged with perverting the course of justice and withholding information.
Ulster Rugby and the IRFU have released a statement in which they say a review of the matter is taking place. Both players are still suspended from playing rugby.
“IRFU and Ulster Rugby officials will review the matter, in line with existing procedures for all contracted players. A Review Committee, made up of senior representatives of the IRFU and Ulster Rugby, has been appointed and will conclude its review as soon as practicable. The players will continue to be relieved of all duties while the Review Committee is in process and determining its findings.”

I'd rate the brothers Hendricks a point or two lower. Jaden has really not delivered on his early promise and Jordan's kicking at posts was quite erratic. Amongst other things.
I was really surprised that DuhDuh was replaced and not Jordan. DuhDuh had a great game and just underlined his class in a backline that was not firing on all cylinders.
Damian Willemse was missed. Hopefully he'll be back to full fitness and have an injury free 2025 (and '26 and '27 and so on until he decides to retire to spend time with his grandchildren).
RG was great. What an athlete.
Very happy that Hanekom made his debut at last. He gave a good account of himself and will hopefully grow into his role on the international stage.
All things considered, this was another frustrating Bok performance. Even though it was a comfortable win, it wasn't a commanding win. This Welsh team should've been put away by a far larger margin.
But I have faith in Dr Rassie. He knows more than I do. Bring on 2027 😁
