Biyi Alo set to be Ealing Trailfinders' next impressive signing
Giant tighthead Biyi Alo is set to be Ealing Trailfinders' next significant acquisition as the London club's recent spate of impressive signings continue - RugbyPass understands.
Currently at Racing 92, the ex-Wasps prop left England following the collapse of the then Coventry-based side and is set to re-establish himself in English rugby with the RFU Championship club, who currently sit second in the table.
The 6'2, 140kg front rower will join the likes of former England centre Billy Twelvetrees, whose arrival in West London was confirmed by Ealing yesterday. Director of rugby Dave Ward is also set to unveil the return of Australian back row Jordy Reid, whose signing is set to be confirmed by the side after a well-regarded stint with Gloucester.
Alo, a Loughborough University graduate, has made over 50 career Premiership appearances, having first joined Wasps as injury cover from Coventry Rugby during the 2018/19 campaign. Alo impressed during his short time to earn a permanent deal with the club from the summer of 2019.
Once tipping the scales at 143kg, Alo was the heaviest player in the Gallagher Premiership for a spell. He came through the Saracens Academy and featured for the first-team during the 2015 campaign, before making the switch to Worcester Warriors where he made 30 appearances, scoring four tries. The London born prop also represented England at U18 and U20 levels.
Away from rugby union, Alo has made forays in the music world with a burgeoning career in rapping.
