England head coach Steve Borthwick is set to raid Leicester Tigers once again, this time for the services of scrum coach Tom Harrison. The move, which has been reported by The Telegraph, will see Harrison replace Richard Cockerill in the role.

Harrison has been part of the Tigers coaching setup for several years and has helped develop one of the most dominant scrums in the Premiership. His work with the likes of Ellis Genge and Dan Cole has been praised, and his departure will be a significant loss for the club.
Excluding Sinfield who joined the England set-up with him, Borthwick has already hired two former Tigers’ colleagues; Richard Wigglesworth and former S&C coach, Aled Walters.
The Telegraph also reports that Great Britain Sevens coach Tony Roques is set to join the Cumbrian’s coaching cabal. Borthwick has already lost Nick Evans as an attack coach, with the New Zealander deciding to return to Harlequins after filling for the duration of the Six Nations.
At the end of March the RFU also confirmed the capture of Irishman Felix Jones from the Springboks. Both Jones and Walters played significant roles in the Springboks’ Rugby World Cup triumph in 2019.
Borthwick and defence coach Kevin Sinfield left Leicester for the England set-up at the end of 2022 after the sacking of Eddie Jones. The pair have since guided England through a very-mixed Guinness Six Nations campaign.
England finished fourth with just two wins.
