Danny Cipriani reveals Wasps exit possible as Top 14 clubs circle

By Online Editors

Wasps flyhalf Danny Cipriani has revealed that talks have taken place between his agent and a French club over a move next season as he considers his options for next season.

Cipriani's future with Wasps is in doubt following the announcement that they have secured All Blacks flyhalf Lima Sopoaga for next season.

Cipriani, speaking to The Guardian, described the potential move to France as “a great opportunity” while reiterating that staying at Wasps remained a possibility.

“There are a couple of options in the Premiership, there’s a chance to stay at Wasps and there’s a great opportunity to go to France,” Cipriani explained. “A French club has talked with my agent but nothing has been decided. I just want to play well for Wasps now.”

The 30 year-old is out of contract at the end of the season having re-joined the Wasps from the Sale Sharks.

Top 14 sides Lyon, Stade Francais and Toulon have all been linked with a move for Cipriani in recent weeks.
