Darcy Graham out of Six Nations as Scotland name 37-man squad
Scotland will be denied the services of wing Darcy Graham for the rest of the Six Nations.
The Edinburgh flyer had returned to training before the Italy fixture after a knee injury ruled him out of the opening two matches, but a setback in his recovery means he will play no part in the Championship.
Townsend has added Edinburgh lock Lewis Carmichael to a 37-man training squad that will gather on Monday to begin preparations to face the French.
The versatile Exeter lock Sam Skinner, who was not deemed sufficiently match-fit to be involved against Italy after only recently returning from a hamstring injury that forced him to miss the World Cup, is also included.
Skinner could push for a place in the match-day 23 against France – which Townsend will confirm on Friday - after playing the full 80-plus minutes in the Chiefs’ dramatic Premiership encounter at Harlequins on Saturday.

i think Argentina v France could be a good game too, depending on which Argentina turns up. The most difficult to call is Scotland Australia.
Go to commentsSmith is playing a different game with the rest of the backs struggling to understand. That's the problem with so called playmakers, if nobody gets what they're doing then it often just leads to a turnover. It gets worse when Borthwick changes one of them, which is why they don't score points at the end. Sometimes having a brilliant playmaker can be problematic if a team cannot be built around them. Once again Borthwick seems lacking in either coaching or selection. I can't help but think it's the latter coupled with pressure to select the big name players.
Lastly, his forward replacements are poor and exposed either lack of depth or selection pressure. Cole hemorrhages scrum penalties whenever he comes on, opponents take advantage of the England scrum and close out the game. Is that the best England can offer?
