Davidson's impressive stint at promoted Brive earns contract reward

Irish coach Jeremy Davidson has had a huge endorsement in France - with Top 14 outfit Brive extending his contract through to 2023.
Davidson’s coaching career had reached a crossroads in 2011 when he was forced out as an assistant at his native Ulster.
However, the 1997 Test series-winning Lions lock soon returned to France, where he had played and coached at Castres, to take up the reins at unheralded Pro D2 club Aurillac.
Having turned them into challengers for Top 14 promotion and moved on to assist Bordeaux, relegated Brive came calling in summer 2018. He soon got them back into the top flight and they have quickly progressed, winning five of their opening ten games this season.
“I'm delighted to continue this very beautiful adventure in Brive,” said Davidson. “We feel very happy in Correze with my family. We are building something exceptional for the club. We all have the same desire to succeed.”

Club president Simon Gillham added: "We are delighted that Jeremy has agreed to continue the adventure with us until at least 2023.
“He was the architect of the comeback in the Top 14. We know that with him we will continue to progress at all levels of the club. He is an example to us all, because of his work and his values.”

This is all being blown totally out of proportion. First of all, since half the Irish team isn’t Irish - it’s very likely that none of the Irish players said that at all and, thus, we’re not being arrogant. Second, since half the Irish team is Kiwi - it’s very likely the Kiwi players were predicting a NZ SA World Cup final. Which they got spot on. Good on them!
