Dragons have just issued a 'positive' Gavin Henson injury update
Dragons flyhalf Gavin Henson is nearing a return for the region.
The club stated: "Gavin had a really positive review of his injury with specialists last week and is now closing in on a return to full training."
The Welsh international has had an injury-stricken time at the Welsh region since joining from Bristol, but could be back in the new year.
The region are in need of good news, after suffering a heavy home defeat to an inexperienced Leinster side featuring a number of academy products. Conference B table-toppers Leinster were convincing 59-10 winners over Bernard Jackman's side at Rodney Parade on Saturday.
Elsewhere prop Leon Brown suffered a thumb fracture which needs surgery. "Unfortunately Leon suffered a Bennett’s fracture to his right thumb during the fixture with Leinster. Leon will undergo surgery at the start of next week before commencing his rehabilitation programme for a return in the New Year."
Jared Rosser is also out of contention following a concussion. "Jared sustained a concussion in last weekend’s fixture. As this is a second concussion this season in a short space of time, Jared will now undergo a slower graded return to play process."
Rosser and Brown will miss the trip to Franklin's Gardens on Saturday as round three of the pool stages get underway.
Other players not available to the Newport based side include: Brok Harris (knee), Ashton Hewitt (shoulder), Tiaan Loots (pectoral) and Josh Reynolds (hamstring).

Not sure the Bulls need another average utility back in their ranks. Chamberlain has been ok for the Sharks but is by no means an X-Factor player. Bulls bought several utility backs which they barely use. A typical example would be Henry Immelman who plays mostly Fullback. The Bulls however have rarely played him this year and he has played wing or centre. Bulls want to build depth but seems like they have too many surplus players

Line outs were a gimme for the ABs, and the last 8 minutes 14 played 14 against a team that had been smashed 3 weeks in a row… Yet with all that possession, with all that territory, with all the advantages they actually had, especially in the last 8 minutes, they couldn’t buy a point. Those last 8 minutes determined if they outplayed the Boks or not. History will show that the Boks completely outplayed the ABs, especially in those last 8 minutes, the business end of any rugby match
