Dragons swoop for talented Wales rookie Evans

Dragons RFC have secured the signing of rising Welsh talent, Cai Evans. The versatile 24-year-old, who can play at full back and fly half, is set to join the team at Rodney Parade this summer.
Currently a part of the Wales preliminary squad preparing for the Rugby World Cup in Switzerland, Evans brings his promising skills to the Men of Gwent ahead of the 2023/24 campaign. His arrival adds to the recent recruitment drive for Dragons, which includes Dan Lydiate, Dane Blacker, and Corey Baldwin.
Evans kickstarted his career with the Ospreys in 2017, making 34 appearances and contributing 35 points to their cause. Notably, he made a name for himself representing Wales Under-20s from 2018 to 2020, showcasing his abilities and securing a memorable victory against the Junior All Blacks with a match-winning penalty.
Flanagan said: “We’re delighted that Cai is joining us and his ability to play in more than one position will be a real asset to our squad.
“Cai is a talented young man who continues to improve every season, underlined by his recent call-up into the international set-up with Wales.
“I’ve worked with Cai before, during our time together with Wales Under-20s in France, so know just how dedicated and professional he is. He’ll be determined to take this opportunity with Dragons.”
Evans said: “I’m delighted to be joining the Dragons and immersing myself in a new environment.
“I’ve got a strong existing relationship with Dai, having been coached by him through age-grade rugby, and I’m determined to be a strong addition to an exciting group of young and ambitious players.”

The outstanding David Havili was missed .I think , if you leave out Christian Lio-Willie , who has been so good. Best if Tom Christie starts with Ethan Blackadder and Cullen Grace. Mitchell Drummond too at 9. Some of those guys were short of a gallop against a fired up Pasifika.
