Eddie Jones apologises 'unreservedly' as footage emerges of offensive remarks
Eddie Jones has apologised 'unreservedly' as footage has emerged of the England coach referring to the Irish as 'scummy' in a seminar.
The embattled coach also described Wales as a 'little shit place'.
The comments were uploaded to the Fuso youtube channel and Jones has this evening apologised for the comments.
Earlier in the same speech Jones refers disparagingly to Wales.
“Wales. Who knows Wales? Are there any Welsh people here? So it’s this little shit place that has got three million people. Three million!”
The video has since been removed.
Jones apologised in a statement: “I apologise unreservedly for any offence caused - no excuses and I shouldn’t have said what I did. I’m very sorry.”
The RFU have also said that they would apologise to both the Irish and Welsh Unions.
The apology is the latest controversy involving the England coach, who himself was the victim of verbal and physical abuse outside a train station in Manchester.

It took a whole season to wash the Foster stink out to be fair. There's still been substantial change though. I think only 7 starters from the RWC QF v IRE started the IRE test in Dublin. This year wasn't the year for full innovation, transition needs to be balanced, & incremental. The new coaches will be able to stamp their full mark on the ABs from 2025 when Razor will select his first proper squad from a mega talented player pool. Exciting times ahead.

The amount of inconsistency with the head contact law coming into the game. No red yesterday and no yellow today, but then another player gets a suspension for a side on headonhead (as apposed to these two sweet shoulders) contact last week. Happy if there is a referee change to having a bit more commensense.
