Edward Griffiths resigns from Saracens after just 26 days

Edward Griffiths has resigned as interim CEO of Saracens with immediate effect.
New chairman Neil Golding said: “The club is very grateful to Edward for temporarily stepping away from his other commitments to provide significant assistance during a difficult period, and wishes him well in the future.”
Griffiths returned to the club in early January after it received a £5.36million fine and a 35-point deduction in November for breaching the salary cap in the three previous seasons.
He came back on January 2 after Nigel Wray stepped down as chairman but he now departs just 26 days later after the club opted to take automatic relegation from the Premiership to the Championship for next season after declaring it wouldn't come in under the salary cap for this season.
Griffiths said: “This was always going to be a very short-term appointment, and others are well-placed to drive forward the rebuilding of the club.”
Saracens report that the recruitment process is underway for a long term CEO and an appointment will be made in due course.

Go to commentsAt this point I can’t watch him without thinking he’s a dirty slimebag. He should have been banned for the same amount of time that Quinn was out. It took Tupaea near on a fricking year to get fit enough to play again and his leg will never be the same. The other crap thing is that he was at ABs level and now he has to claw his way back there when he could have had several games under his belt.
