England and Scotland players on Perpignan watchlist - report
Perpignan is setting its sights on England's Danny Care and Scotland's Ali Price as key targets to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season - according to Rugbyrama.
The French side are on the market and looking to fill their scrumhalf position with some Test level talent.
Care - a pivotal figure for Harlequins and England - brings a wealth of experience and skill to the scrum-half position. The 37-year-old recently passed 100 caps for England, having been in and out of the squad since 2008.
RugbyPass understood that Care was close to agreeing to another one-year contract with Quins. Aside from Perpignan, there has also been keen interest in Care from Top 14 rivals Bayonne - who recently signed fellow England star Manu Tuilagi. Bayonne’s interest is serious as they are looking to replace Maxime Machenaud
Alongside Care is Perpignan's radar is Glasgow nine Ali Price, who has recently found himself as the third-choice scrum-half for Scotland.
A move abroad looks like good timing for Price, who at 30 years old still has plenty of rugby left in him. The French club's interest in these two internationally acclaimed players underscores their ambition to bolster their lineup with top-tier talent.
In total there are four scrum-halves on their watchlist. Alongside Care and Price, Perpignan has identified Léo Carbonneau and ex-Wallaby Jake Gordon as potential candidates at halfback.
Since debuting for the Wallabies in 2018, Gordon has earned 20 caps and established himself as a key player for Australia.
