Harlequins flanker Jack Kenningham will miss the rest of the season after undergoing surgery.

Kenningham injured his neck in the Gallagher Premiership with Exeter at the weekend.

A statement from Quins reveals: "Quins can confirm that Kenningham underwent successful surgery earlier this week following a neck injury sustained during last weekend’s Gallagher Premiership victory over Exeter Chiefs.

"The Club will continue to support Kenningham in his rehabilitation as he looks to return to the field, currently set for a six-month rehabilitation period."

Senior Coach Tabai Matson said: “It’s a real shame to see Jack set for a spell on the sidelines. He’s a fantastic young player who has a great future in the sport.

“We have a fantastic medical team here at Quins who will ensure Jack is well looked after. He’s a tough, determined individual and I know he’ll come back from this set-back and hit the ground running.”
