The English rugby team have revealed their 2018/2019 England Rugby home and alternate kits, which will be worn by the men’s and women’s teams throughout the coming season.

The makers Canterbury gave this description of the shirt: "The design of the shirt takes inspiration from ‘white noise’, the effect created by the sound of England supporters cheering the team on. The design, which creates a disruptive and textured effect, uses a variety of St. George’s crosses, reflecting patriotism and incorporates platinum and titanium colours symbolising the strength of those metals."

Running around certainly brews a sweat, but the makers reckon they've got this covered as the shirt "includes VapoDri technology, which is designed to wick moisture away from the body and maintain core temperature"

The new kits will make their debut during the November internationals with England men's team facing South Africa on November 3rd, with the alternate kit being worn against Japan on November 17th. The women's team, the Red Roses, will wear their new kit for the first time on November 9th against the USA, with the alternate kit getting its first airing against Canada on November 18th.

Of course it has divided opinion, one Twitter user Dr Nigel Newbutt said it was "Surely one of the most slapdash / rushed kits for a while? It’s almost like they didn’t bother thinking about it and chucked out something really quickly."

However England captain Dylan Hartley gave the new kit the thumbs up.

“Every player in the squad is proud to represent England, put on the jersey and wear the rose so it’s great to see that English pride is reflected in the kit design. Every time we pull on the shirt we want to go out there, give it our all and make sure that we are constantly working hard and improving our performance. It gives us real confidence knowing we are wearing the best possible kit”, he said.
