England Rugby team's reaction to Cricket World Cup triumph caught on camera

After England cricket lifted the World Cup for the first time yesterday after a dramatic win over New Zealand, England rugby have shared the moment it happened at their training camp.

Preparing for their own World Cup in September, the rugby team can be seen celebrating as England won a super over, congratulating the team on Twitter on their achievement.

The victory is already receiving comparisons to England’s 2003 World Cup win, particularly the dramatic finish, with Ben Stokes’ heroics at the end being compared to Jonny Wilkinson’s drop-goal.
England won both the rugby and football World Cups in extra-time, and this recent victory has been added to the catalogue of incredible sporting moments.
Furthermore, this victory has led to calls from fans for the rugby team to repeat this in Japan later this year. The World Cup starts in September, with the final at the beginning of November, and England are already well under way with their preparations for the tournament.
A victory like this by the cricket team will surely inspire Eddie Jones’ team as it has the fans.

An England vs New Zealand is another final that many would like to see come the World Cup, but this looks like an unlikely fixture. Should England win their pool, they are probably going to face the All Blacks in the semi-final. But they will still need to topple the men in black if they wish to lift the Webb Ellis Cup.
However, it will be a role reversal in Japan, as the All Blacks enter the tournament as firm favourites, as did England at the cricket World Cup.
Nonetheless, such an epic World Cup win in cricket has filled a nation with optimism for more success this year.
