A foundation of historical performance absolutely matters more than just a (minutely) short period of time.

You’re trying to say that it’s been 6 years now, so it’s unlikely the past 120 has much relevance any more right? I’m just saying that’s definitely not true as a basis of fact.

Now you can instead say things like ABs had such a record because they placed more importance on it than anybody else, and that that now is not so much the case, but you wouldn’t just use a 6 year period to make that point, it would be a regression over time indication.

So unless you had some other idea as the basis for saying “who cares why you were the best for the last hundred years”, I’m just telling you factors that have been their for that long don’t just go away and never come back after 6 years. Now, if they keep making bad mistakes for another few years, then yes, I’d agree the past becomes fairly irrelevant at that point, increasingly more so anyway.
