Late try earns Newcastle narrow victory against Biarritz in Challenge Cup
By PA
A late try from George Wacokecoke saw Newcastle snatch a dramatic 17-13 Challenge Cup win at Biarritz.
Following a lengthy TMO referral with the clock beyond 80 minutes, Wacokecoke was awarded the score after replays showed he managed to get the ball to ground inside the right corner post.
Earlier, Sam Stuart had seen his seventh-minute score cancelled out by home flanker Tornike Jalaghonia.
Brett Connon made a difference with the boot, kicking both conversions and a penalty.
In Pool C, Brive beat Pau 33-25.

His decision to play in France isn’t a petulant decision as this article suggests. I reckon that France is the perfect place to demonstrate that he can mix it in those battles Rassie references. It’s a good decision to try get into the squad. My personal opinion is that he wins more battles than he loses. I don’t have Rassie’s stats machine behind me, but Daymian’s is so strong moving through traffic and in the rip.
