Ex-Wales Sevens international Ryan Conbeer switches regions
The Ospreys have announced the signing of winger Ryan Conbeer from the Scarlets on a short-term deal.
The former Wales Sevens international, 25, had made 80 appearances for the Scarlets during his eight years at Parc y Scarlets.
Conbeer has already been included in the Ospreys' squad for their pre-season Origin Series on Saturday at the Swansea.com Stadium, where they will face Aberavon, Bridgend and Swansea Rugby Club.
Ospreys head coach Toby Booth cited the injury to Keelan Giles as a reason to bring in Conbeer, who made 23 appearances for Wales U20 (a record since broken by Morgan Morse), as cover.
“With Keelan currently out injured, it made a lot of sense for us to bring in someone of Ryan’s calibre at the wing position," Booth said.
"He’s got a proven track record and is someone we still see as having a bright future in rugby.”
Conbeer added: “It’s been really easy to get settled in with the Ospreys. I know a fair few of the boys already but everyone at the club has made me feel welcome since I’ve been here.
“I’m looking forward to stepping onto the pitch with the team and making an impact wherever I can.”
Ospreys get their United Rugby Championship season underway in a Welsh derby against the Dragons at Rodney Parade on September 21.

For a while when they were going well, New Zealand was berating everyone to have a kiwi coach, so everyone would play like them making it easier for them.
The French, being independently minded never embraced it which is why the All Blacks always struggled with France and a few more countries have dumped their kiwi coaches and lo and behold started doing better.
Poor old Wales and Australia are still stuck in the past being All Blacks cannon fodder. How boring is it to have two countries with kiwi coaches come up against each other, like this weekend. It's dull as hell.
