Referee Wayne Barnes handed out the red card

Uruguay hooker Facundo Gattas has received a three-match ban after being sent off for a dangerous high tackle.

Gattas was dismissed by English referee Wayne Barnes during his team’s World Cup Pool D defeat against Georgia two days ago.

It was pure ballin from @RugbyUruguay in their win over Fiji.

World Rugby said that Gattas attended a disciplinary hearing on Tuesday and sought to overturn the red card, but Barnes’ decision was upheld.

Gattas will miss Uruguay’s remaining group games against Australia and Wales as part of his suspension.

He is the fifth player to be banned at the tournament for a dangerous tackle.

Three decisions that went badly wrong for the Wallabies

Yeah, Australia were never going to win test one anyway. He was one questionable ref's call away from being called a genius for springing a huge upset in test two, while giving his power players the best possible opportunity to perform in the decider. His attack patterns did an incredible job of making the most of his scant resources against a far superior group of players.

The BIL have played the Boks in 14 tours. Boks won 9, drew 1 and lost 4 since the first tour. They had 12 against the AB's. AB's won 10, drew 1 and lost 1. Wallabies on the other hand played 10, won 2 and lost 8 against the BIL. They definitely prefer the Wallabies tours😂😂😂
