Five Wales call-ups named in Gloucester side for Falcons

Five players called up to the Wales squad this week are set to feature for Gloucester in this weekend's Gallagher Premiership clash against Newcastle Falcons.

The starting XV includes Welsh internationals Gareth Anscombe, Tomos Williams, Max Llewellyn, Freddie Thomas and Josh Hathaway. They joined by the likes of former England flyer Christian Wade and rising star Jack Clement. Anscombe and Wade return after missing last weekend's clash against Leicester Tigers due to minor injuries.

In the forward pack, Val Rapava-Ruskin and Afo Fasogbon have been brought in to reinforce the scrum, joining Jack Singleton, who retains his place at hooker. The second-row partnership of Arthur Clark and Freddie Thomas continues, while Clement combines with Lewis Ludlow and Zach Mercer in a dynamic back row.

Welsh call-up Tomos Williams starts at scrum-half and will partner with the returning Anscombe. Charlie Atkinson lines up at inside centre alongside Llewellyn, who scored three tries in the previous match. In the back three, Wade and Ollie Thorley take up positions on the wings, while Josh Hathaway shifts to full-back to cover for the absent Santi Carreras.

The bench features forward cover from Seb Blake, Jamal Ford-Robinson, Ciaran Knight, Matias Alemanno and Harry Taylor, while Caolan Englefield, Louis Hillman-Cooper, and Ioan Jones provide options among the backs.
