Former British and Irish Lions wing brands Danny Cipriani a 'coward'
Former British and Irish Lions wing Luke Fitzgerald has labelled Danny Cipriani as a 'coward' who is not fit to play for England.
The former Irish winger made the comment on his Podcast 'The Left Wing' saying that while he rated the Gloucester star, he said there were simply too many holes in his game.
'I rate Danny, I just don't think he is international class. He has too many holes in his game," said the former Irish winger.
'The biggest hole in his game, and the main reason I wouldn't be picking him ahead of guys like Owen Farrell or George Ford, is his defence is poor and, to be honest, he's a bit of a coward.
'With all the other stuff off the field, why can't Danny just keep his s*** together?
'Why does he have to do the night out and why is he always the one that gets picked on?
'Is he the unluckiest person in the world? I don't think so. He had to do years down with the Melbourne Rebels and all these places. He has unbelievable physical gifts.
'I played against him when we (Leinster) beat Wasps well, but he is so quick, has beautiful hands, and is a nice kicker. But he just can't stay on the straight and narrow and it is sad to see.
'He's got the full package and he should have been earning a million a year for 10 years at the top of the English game, but his personality defects have caught up with him.
'He is a sad case in a lot of ways because he has so much potential. How are you going to pick him ahead of a guy like Farrell who is working hard all of the time?
'You just can't have people like Cipriani because he is compromising the team the whole time.'
