Former Lions lock O'Callaghan signs new Worcester deal
Former Ireland and British and Irish Lions lock Donncha O'Callaghan has signed a new one-year deal with Worcester Warriors.
O'Callaghan, capped 94 times by his country as well as on four occasions by the Lions during tours to New Zealand and South Africa, joined Worcester in 2015 after 17 years with Munster.
The 38-year-old was handed the Worcester captaincy earlier this year and since then the Warriors have picked up 17 points from six matches – a run which has helped confirm their Premiership status for another season.
"Our recent form has been reasonably encouraging and that provides us with a decent platform for next season," said O'Callaghan.
"People often talk about what Warriors can become, but it really is time we started to deliver consistent success on the field. Nothing else is acceptable.
"I believe we have the staff and the squad to compete next season, and I am really excited by the challenge."

Kriel seems over rated to me...quite one dimensional
Go to commentsHe was no more a candidate than other 10's in the Super squads. A lot of very good players in the Crusaders and Canterbury squads but they are very system focused (which does work for the most part) and sometimes when the team is not going well those players look no better than others. Josh Ioane and Stephen Perefoeta were more highly regarded a couple of seasons ago when Burke appeared. Even Mitch Hunt was rated ahead at the time. Burke promotion to the Crusaders was likely because Hunt shifted.
Burke if he was fit and sticked around then definetly would of had a strong chance if his progress continued.
