Former WRU president Glanmor Griffiths passes away

Former Welsh Rugby Union president, chair and treasurer Glanmor Griffiths has died at the age of 83.
Griffiths oversaw the Millennium Stadium project, which was delivered on time and within budget for Wales to host the 1999 Rugby World Cup.
Now known as the Principality Stadium, Cardiff’s 74,500-capacity city centre venue has staged FA Cup finals, the 2017 Champions League final and boxing world title fights, in addition to being a home ground for Welsh international rugby.
“Welsh rugby owes Glanmor Griffiths a huge debt for all his work on delivering what is now Principality Stadium,” WRU chair Richard Collier-Keywood told the union’s website.
“At the time it was one of the biggest engineering projects in western Europe, and what it has delivered to the nation since 1999 has been incredible.
“Having filled three of the highest chains of office at the WRU – treasurer, chair and president – over a period of more than 20 years of service to the game in Wales, his imprint will forever be evident in the history of the WRU.
“We thank him for his immense contribution to Welsh rugby and offer sincere condolences to his family and friends.”
Griffiths was WRU chair from 1996 until 2003, and chair of Millennium Stadium plc up to 2003.
The WRU said that he died peacefully in Cardiff.

Let’s make them both Capt. I think we'd get the best of both of them and it would help alleviate some of the pressures of the role. They'd have to confer over on field decisions which should lead to “ learnings “ for both. They are our two best consistent performers.

The springboks are going to grow their game an awful lot over the next cycle and it’s not just the 19 disgustingly arrogant Irish players who refused to shake Ebens hand and said “see you in the final if you can cheat your way past France” who will find that out first hand.
