Scotland have called in reinforcements after an attritional weekend of European Rugby left the national side without the services of four players.

Scotland headcoach Gregor Townsend has added four players to the Scotland squad for the 2019 Guinness Six Nations.

Uncapped back-row forwards Luke Crosbie (Edinburgh) and Matt Smith (Glasgow Warriors) are joined by Glasgow Warriors pair Alex Dunbar (centre) and Rob Harley (second-row).

Edinburgh back-row Hamish Watson has dropped out of the squad while he recovers from the hand injury he sustained in his club’s win over Montpellier, while fellow squad members Sam Johnson (concussion), Jonny Gray (shoulder) and Ryan Wilson (shoulder) continue their rehabilitation in camp.

Star openside flank Hamish Watson failed to finish the match which Edinburgh won 19-10 to secure a spot in the quarterfinals.

Watson left the field before the half-hour mark and after the match Edinburgh head coach Richard Cockerill explained that the injury did not look too good.

Jonny Gray hurt his shoulder in the same game but it expected he will be ready for the opening round of the Six Nations.
