The narrative was already written by the media before this tour started yet 24-5 up inside 45 mins should have equalled a rollicking. It never came.

Tremendous effort in application and skill from the Wallabies, no where near their opponents on the latter though, that team could rival the 2015 All Black class.

Wallaby 12 was everywhere last night, huge effort, but a lot of the time that included being in the wrong place. Is their partnership just too complicated or can they make it work better in test 2 and 3? I have a feeling JAS should shift inside to 12 to help simplify things.

Oh, and BTW, you could see the raw naivety of a league player out there (as you’d expect) but it didn’t have too much of a negative effect. Yes, there was a feeling of being put off I recall by how ugly it was getting right, and that must be because he was an early get. It’d be really interesting to know which would have had the bigger factor in their raid failing them, the carry on and lack of performance from Eddie or having created a money vacuum all of a sudden.
