England player Jess Breach has posted a shot of the gruesome aftermath of a collision she was involved in her side's Tik Tok Women's Six Nations victory over Ireland.

A record crowd of 15,836 at Welford Road bore witness to the 69 - 0 victory. England scored eleven tries as Ireland were well and truly put to the sword.

Despite the scoreline suggesting a one-sided affair, it was a bruising encounter for both teams, with some huge shots exchanged.

One collision - between winger Breach and Ireland back row Dorothy Wall - had a particularly horrific outcome.

Rugby writer Jess Hayden wrote on Twitter: "If you haven’t seen Jess Breach's Instagram story yet of the hefty cut to her forehead, it’s worth checking out (but not for the squeamish or those who have recently eaten) Basically a free eye lift."

After being attended to on the pitch by medics, the winger was then taken to hospital so the deep wound could be triaged.

Breach had sustained a massive cut across her brow, one which ultimately needed 15 stitches to repair.

The 24-year-old then posted before and after pictures to her Instagram.

Breach thanked the hospital for treating her and posted the after picture, where she brandished the multiple stitches across her brow.

The tackle was the topic of some discussion, with many questioning why Wall only received a yellow card for the hit.
