Glasgow miss last gasp kick resulting in Challenge Cup draw with Bath
Former England scrum-half Ben Spencer landed a late penalty to secure Bath a 19-19 Challenge Cup draw with Glasgow at Scotstoun.
Warriors won the try count 3-1 after Matt Fagerson, Sione Vailanu and Sebastian Cancelliere crossed, Chris Cloete claiming the visitors’ only try.
But penalties from Piers Francis and Orlando Bailey kept Bath in contention until Spencer stepped up in the 76th minute to secure a share of the spoils.
In a dramatic late twist, Duncan Weir had the opportunity to seize victory for Glasgow in the closing seconds but his shot at goal was wide.
It was the first time in four group outings that Bath had avoided defeat and the two-points keeps them in contention for a place in the next round.
Bristol completed the group phase with an immaculate return of four wins after crushing Perpignan 33-19 at Ashton Gate.
Despite having five match points deducted earlier this week for selecting an ineligible player, the hosts had already qualified and they underlined their pedigree in the competition by running in five tries.
England prop Ellis Genge helped himself to a first-half brace, but Bristol were unable to score again after the break.
Toulon moved top of Pool A with a 14-5 win over Zebre Parma at Stade Felix Mayol.

I guess the other option would be to start ALB, he's looked good in the 12 so far when he starts and sets up those outside him. But that would mean putting the vice captain on the bench, which is unlikely. Another option would be to drop Reiko to the bench and play Proctor, though he's gone home so that's not going to happen either.
Both of those players just offer more of the soft distribution skills good centres learn from playing their careers there. Unfortunately that's what's lacking with the current combo.

The game is changing to suit the fast pace we like to play. We get to play the Springboks more, including the franchises, which will make us better! Overall I am optimistic. I will add having watched the England game multiple times we made most of the play. England are an awesome physical team, but you can expect the All Blacks to get better and better at executing the chances. It could easily have been 5 tries to one instead of 3 to 1.
