Guido Petti will swap Bordeaux for Twickenham this summer after Harlequins announced the Argentina second row had signed on at the Stoop for the 2025/26 season.

Petti Pagadizábal has enjoyed five successful years in France, having played 62 times for Union Bordeaux-Bègles since arriving from Jaguares and helping the club to last year's Top 14 final.

He becomes the second lock signing made by the Gallagher Premiership club for next term, following confirmation last month that Ireland international Kieran Treadwell will return to Quins from Ulster.

The Argentine will link up with countryman Rodrigo Isgro at Quins and brings a wealth of experience to the club's options in the second and back rows, having played at three Rugby World Cups and won 87 caps for Los Pumas.

“I’m excited to join Harlequins next season – it’s a club with a lot of history and a new challenge in the Gallagher Premiership,” Petti Pagadizábal said.

“Harlequins is an ambitious club with a strong squad, which I can’t wait to join. I’ve heard a lot about the fantastic support of the club and I’m looking forward to playing in front of the supporters at the Stoop.”

Quins head coach, Danny Wilson said: “Guido is a brilliant addition to our squad heading into next season – his athleticism and ability at the lineout will strengthen our forward pack.

“Guido’s approaching 100 caps for Argentina, which showcases his quality and ability to perform at the top level of the game. He’ll also bring valuable leadership to the group, which is a huge asset.

"We’re looking forward to welcoming him to the club this summer.”
