Harlequins sign Scottish international Hidalgo-Clyne with immediate effect
Harlequins has signed Scrum-half Sam Hidalgo-Clyne on loan from Scarlets for the rest of the season.
The Club has brought in the Scottish international as cover for Charlie Mulchrone, who was last week ruled out for three months with a head injury sustained in Harlequins’ match against Gloucester Rugby.
Last week Worcester Warriors’ Luke Baldwin joined the Club on a month’s loan as immediate cover but, because he is cup-tied for Harlequins’ European Challenge Cup quarter-final at Sixways, Hidalgo-Clyne will now be at The Stoop for the remainder of the season.
Head of Rugby Paul Gustard said: “Sam is a fantastic Scrum-half and we are very pleased to have been able to get him on board with us for the remainder of the season.
“I know he has the personality and energy to fit in very quickly and easily into our squad and I look forward to him contributing as we look to end the season on a high.”
25-year-old Scottish international Sam Hidalgo-Clyne, who graduated from Edinburgh Rugby’s Elite Development roster joined Scarlets from Edinburgh last season.
Taking on kicking duties midway through the 2014/15 season, his accuracy with the boot and electrifying displays helped his club to the European Challenge Cup Final.
He made his full international debut in the 2015 Six Nations championship.
