Henry Arundell has reacted to comparisons with Campese and Habana
England rookie Henry Arundell is determined to forge his own path to rugby stardom amid comparisons with greats of the game such as David Campese and Bryan Habana. Arundell produced one of the most dynamic debuts in English rugby history when scoring a try and helping to set up a second in the closing stages of Saturday’s 30-28 defeat by Australia.
The 19-year-old’s seven-minute cameo on the wing was a continuation of his explosive form for London Irish in his debut professional season, but at Perth’s Optus Stadium he announced his arrival to the world.
Eddie Jones compared his debut to that of Wallabies great Campese, while South Africa’s deadly finisher Habana and Wallabies genius Matt Giteau have also been referenced.
“They are very high compliments. The compliments are great, but I have got to make sure I keep proving it,” said Arundell, who is set to be retained on the England bench for Saturday’s second Test.
“Eddie drives that through the whole team - drive is improvement for yourself to keep getting better. It’s fun when you get the comparisons and stuff but, at the end of the day, you have to be your own player and do your own thing.”
Arundell’s brother and dad jetted out to Perth to watch his debut and will also be present for the next instalment of the series in Brisbane this weekend.
“On a personal level and for my family as well, it was an incredible, incredible day. I didn’t think I’d ever do that type of thing, so I’m really excited about that but there is a bigger focus,” Arundell said. “It’s great to score a try, but guys like Owen Farrell have almost played 100 Tests and that’s the goal for me, to be at that sort of level.
"Owen gave me one of his shirts after the game to say well done. There is a mutual understanding that is great, that it has happened, but the Test series is the main thing - and winning the World Cup next year.”

Did you suffer losses from the CanCap Crypto investment scam?
Sadly, I was a victim of this CanCap crypto investment scam, and I lost $757,000 worth of crypto in 24 hours. I saw an article about CanCap Crypto on Facebook, supposedly endorsed by then-Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. I was deceived into believing I could invest in this scheme, but I ended up losing all my money. Not a while later, I found out that I was being scammed when I saw the news about the Alberta Securities Commission (ASC) warnings about the CanCap Crypto investment scam. I was left wondering what had happened and how I could recover my money. A friend who works for the government of Alberta told me about Morphohack Cyber Service, which is a resourceful crypto recovery company. I contacted Morphohack Cyber Service, who had already received several other requests to investigate and recover crypto from the same scam, while I was still in doubt if it could be done, Morphohack was able to recover my crypto investments from CanCap within 48 hours later. In light of the situation, I fully recommend the service of Morphohack Cyber Service while I encourage everyone out there to be careful of their crypto investments or seek help from a reputable and trustworthy source.

Go to commentsSurely the point is that Ireland and Scotland did not demolish Wales after Sherratt took over. There was pressure on England too and little to lose for Wales. So the win has some real credibility in my book.
Ofc it will be a much stiffer test v the top four nations but at least there is a blueprint to follow now. Also England’s two front rows can now look forward to battle the Boks on genuinely even terms.
