'I'd back myself' - Foley not dwelling on crucial miss
Wallabies flyhalf Bernard Foley has vowed to improve after missing a crucial kick during the Waratahs’ season opener, spoiling a potential victory over the Hurricanes on Saturday night.
Foley, who on Saturday surpassed Matthew Burke as the club’s greatest points scorer, missed a straightforward kick from 30 metres out with his side down one and just over a minute left to play.

The miss was Foley’s only error off the tee that night, after he started the match with five consecutive made kicks as the Waratahs jumped out to a 19-10 lead.
“It’s disappointing,” Foley told Fox Sports of the miss.
“To (not) reward the front row at the end there, they did a great job to win that penalty, so it would have been great to reward them,” Foley said.
Hurricanes captain TJ Perenara expressed his relief after seeing Foley’s kick sail wide of the posts.
“I was behind the sticks and he didn’t miss by much,” Perenara said.
“Me and Jordie (Barrett) were both there saying ‘Please pull it bro, please pull it’ and lucky enough it did.
“That’s not a position you want to be in late in the game, behind the sticks hoping a goal-kicker like Bernard Foley misses a shot.

“That’s something we will be talking about.”
The Waratahs now travel to Tokyo to face the Sunwolves, while the Hurricanes are gearing up for a big derby clash with the defending champion Crusaders.
