Ireland call-up two as full toll of win over Scotland tallied

Ireland head coach Andy Farrell has called up two players as the full toll of their thrilling Guinness Six Nations win over Scotland has been tallied.

In a brutally attritional game for the Grand Slam hopefuls, no fewer than five players left the field early through injury, with Josh van der Flier and Cian Healy left to share the duties of hooker.

Garry Ringrose, who sustained a head injury during the match, is reported to be doing well after returning to Dublin. The centre collided with the hip of Blair Kinghorn and appeared to be knocked unconscious from the blow that came late in the game.

The IRFU have unsurprisingly confirmed that he will play no further part in this year's Guinness Six Nations.

Iain Henderson, who was removed from action just 20 minutes into the game at Murrayfield, is scheduled to undergo surgery today (Monday) for a fractured forearm. To provide additional second-row cover, the uncapped Leinster second row Ross Molony has been added to the squad.

Additionally, two other players, Dan Sheehan and Ronan Kelleher, sustained shoulder injuries during the match against Scotland. Both will be managed in camp this week, and Tom Stewart from Ulster has been brought in as cover.

No.8 Caelan Doris, who has a hip complaint after he contested a high ball, will also be managed in camp this week, the union confirmed.
