Jamie Bhatti set for landmark Glasgow appearance against Dragons
Jamie Bhatti will make his 100th appearance for Glasgow on Saturday after being released from Scotland duty to start against the Dragons.
Fly-half Ross Thompson, captain Stafford McDowall and Johnny Matthews, the BKT United Rugby Championship top try-scorer, will also be involved from the start at Scotstoun after being let go from Gregor Townsend’s squad.
Former Exeter winger Facundo Cordero has been handed a debut while Ruaraidh Hart could make his first appearance off the bench.
Ben Afshar makes his first start in professional rugby after being named at scrum-half.
Head coach Franco Smith told glasgowwarriors.org: “(Saturday) night will be a special moment for Jamie in particular, as he reaches his 100th appearance for the club; he is someone that gives his all every time he is selected for this club, and I know the crowd will show their appreciation.
“We’re also pleased to see Facundo and Ruaraidh pull on the jersey for the first time – both men have worked hard and will be looking to make an impact.”

The hell with this constant regurgitation of what this pretty boy is doing. For all I care he might as well be doing a Jamie Oliver cooking course. Rugby is not a progression toward the NFL, which, given its prominence in your reporting, you appear to regard as the ultimate contact sport. It has virtually nothing to do with rugby, and forever may that remain the case. I know that if I don’t like it I don’t have to read it, but I’m sick of seeing this dishwater-dull nonsense.
