Rugby World Cup Japan city guide - Fukuoka

In the first of our Rugby World Cup city guides, Jaybor Staunton visits the prefecture of Fukuoka, which sits on the northern shore of Japan’s Kyushu Island.

Famous for it’s shrines, great food and nightlife, there is plenty to see and do in Fukuokoa. Jaybor takes us on a Yanagawa River cruise, before sampling some local specialties and as well as getting a run-out in the 22k seater Fukuoka Hakatanomori Stadium.

Fukuoka will play host to Ireland, Italy, France, Samoa and USA during the Rugby World Cup 2019, so if you’re visiting for a game, be sure to make the most of this stunning part of Japan.

Sure ,last game in NZ was the 07/19, but with the fly, the resting period will be not more than 3 weeks. But maybe, they will not play the firsts top14 games.

Can’t really blame RM for having one of the worst set ups at the ABs for him. Constant doubt over his ability (dual playmaker), never really given the seat despite utter domination over the domestic comp.

Beauden and DMac were given the keys and let loose, RM had a parent backseat driving him the whole way.

Which they deployed because France were conceding penalties in midfield rather than allow the ball to get to the backs division. England used the resulting kicks in the most efficient way to accumulate points. If teams don’t want them to do that, they shouldn’t give away penalties in places where a kick to the corner is on.

As Martin Johnson once quipped when asked why 2003 England Men kicked so many penalties, “you’d have to ask the other side. It’s not us giving away the penalties.”

World Rugby to launch 'next phase' of player welfare technology

They are calibrated to record head accelerations over the level that is associated with potential concussion. That generally doesn’t happen unless there’s direct contact to the head or a “whiplash” type contact in which the contact itself is OK but the player may not have had their neck properly braced for impact or their head hit the turf at speed.

The mouthguards have been in use for long enough that the calibration is well established, and the trials of the latest version will have checked for false positives.

The gloves are now off and the Boks for the first time are revealing their top players. At home at Ellis park they should comfortably dispose of an already battered Aissie side by 20+. Most interest will be to see what injuries will affect both teams thereafter

rugbypass have it as their leading womens rugby headline- so clearly they want it to be taken seriously-they even asked woodman for comment. I have merely been pointing out that the rationale for some of the choices do not make much sense. The main point simply is shes only just come back to 15s after 3 years away-she hasnt yet done enough to justify the worlds best 15s player tag. Maybe she will in the months to come,but not now.

The trouble with that serious an ACL rupture is that even after rehabilitation speed is down by a bit and sudden changes in direction off that leg often leads to reoccurrence.
