England boss Eddie Jones has cut his squad to 25 ahead of Thursday’s announcement of his team that will face Scotland in the second round of the Guinness Six Nations.

Jones had initially retained a 34-strong training squad as he sought to start picking up the pieces in the wake of last Sunday’s opening weekend defeat away to France.

Manu Tuilagi was injured early on in that match in Paris and he will now return to Leicester to continue his rehabilitation from a low-grade adductor strain

Anthony Watson has also been released back to Bath as he continues to nurse the leg injury suffered last month on Heineken Champions Cup duty.
