Just 22 days after revealing he would leave crisis club Ospreys, Matt Sherratt has lined up a new role
It has taken one of Ospreys’ interim head coaches just 22 days to find himself a new club after he announced in mid-November he would leave struggling Welsh region for family reasons.
Matt Sherratt was working as backs coach for the Swansea-based club when it emerged on November 19 he would exit at the end of this season.
“It's been a tough decision but the right one for my family who must come first," said Sherratt at the time.
"I've loved being part of the Ospreys set-up and remain absolutely committed to our collective efforts between now and the end of the season,” he said, adding he would take time to decide on his next job move.
In the end, he didn’t need much of a wait as Worcester, the Premiership club he previously worked for in an academy role before switching to Bristol and Cardiff, revealed he will join them as attack and backs coach next summer to replace the departing Neil Doak.

Sherratt’s recruitment by the Warriors comes after a dramatic few weeks of upheaval at Ospreys where he and fellow assistant Carl Hogg were put in temporary charge of the team after head coach Allen Clarke was removed from first-team duties.
Warriors boss Alan Solomons said: “He is an outstanding coach with an excellent reputation and has strong links with the club, having begun his coaching career with the academy. It’s really a question of welcome back.
“He has also had the benefit of coaching Wales in the 2016/17 season, which included the Six Nations and a summer tour to Samoa and Tonga. I know he is highly thought of by the Welsh International players.
“In addition, he is friends with our academy manager, Mike Hall, and our incoming forwards coach, Jonathan Thomas, which augurs well for the synergy of our staff.”
Sherratt will remain with Ospreys for the remainder of this season. “Matt is a popular and respected figure at the Ospreys,” said managing director Andrew Millward.
“We were all disappointed with his decision to leave at the end of the season but understand his desire to be closer to his young family.”

Wow.... Just wow!
Eben managed to make more meters and average more meters per carry than both Barrett and Vaai in both games and played fewer minutes.
Eben also made double digit tackles in Capetown and actually had 3 more tackles than both players. plus he had a higher completion rate than vaai and equal to Barrett in Joberg. Yes he was manhandled by a 113kg hooker but I believe Barrett was sat down by a 75kg winger. Which is more acceptable?
What BS about Kolbes line break completion. So Dmacs, and Will Jordan and right have far more line breaks... that must mean the ABs and wallabies have out scored every team... oh wait. In half as many games in the TRC Kolbe had 1 less clean break than Will Jordan and topped the list for defenders beaten with 21, next best was 17 and it wasn't DMac, wright or Jordan.
