Kyle Eastmond is back in rugby union
Former dual code international Kyle Eastmond has begun his coaching journey in the RFU Championship with Jersey Reds.
The diminutive playmaker earned six caps for England in rugby union and four in rugby league during his time with St Helens, in addition to over 100 Premiership appearances in for Bath, Leicester and Wasps.
After nine seasons of rugby union, the Oldham-born playmaker made a shock return to rugby league in May 2021 but retired two games into his spell with Leeds Rhinos.
Since then, 34-year-old Eastmond has been in the property game but the feeling always was that his sharp rugby brain would make him an asset to any coaching set-up.
Eastmond has spent the past fortnight at the Reds and will be part of the coaching team for the start of the 2023/24 campaign.
Eastmond will make a quick return to his old stomping ground at The Rec, on September 16th, when Jersey take on Bath in the second round of the Premiership Cup, a match televised live by TNT Sports.
