Leicester Tigers snap up ex-Wasps hooker Gabriel Oghre
Leicester Tigers have announced the signing of former Wasps hooker Gabriel Oghre on a short-term deal.
The 24-year-old spent five years with Wasps before his side were suspended from the Gallagher Premiership last month.
Oghre represented England under-20 and was a member of Eddie Jones' England camp last autumn. He will now provide more options for head coach Steve Borthwick in the No.2 jersey with frontline hooker Nic Dolly sill out with a long term knee injury.
Despite Wasps being out of action in recent weeks, Oghre represented the Barbarians last week against Harlequins at the Stoop.
After joining the Premiership champions, Oghre said: “It’s an amazing club with a huge history and amazing opportunity, which I am so excited about.”
“Tigers is a place where I know I can improve as a player and I am looking forward to adding what I can to the squad, while learning from the players and coaches in Leicester.
“I am looking forward to being back in a rugby environment and enjoying it.
“You never forget playing at Mattioli Woods Welford Road, as an away player, because of the atmosphere and environment that the stadium has and the supporters create.
“There are not many places like it and so the chance to be able to play there for Leicester is something special.”
Borthwick said: “Gabriel is an incredibly talented player who is a great addition to our squad and club.”
“He is a mobile forward and excellent ball carrier, with a great ability to link with others in attack.
“At only 24, he has a strong level of experience in the Premiership and adds healthy competition to our front-row ranks.”

It's likely he just doesn't have your phone number.
