Live Premiership games for free-to-air TV rugby fans in the UK
By PA
This season's Gallagher Premiership final at Twickenham will be broadcast free-to-air for the first time in the competition’s history as part of a new deal with ITV. Five of this season’s matches, including the final on June 18, are to be broadcast live on ITV.
Also included as part of the agreement is a weekly highlights programme in a deal that will last until the 2023/24 season.
The coverage begins when Sale face Leicester on January 30 and for the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons, seven live games including the final will be shown on ITV, simulcast with BT Sport.
“Our ambition is to grow the game and make the Premiership available to as many people as possible,” Premiership Rugby chief executive Simon Massie-Taylor said.
