Luke Hamilton signs with Pro 14 side

By Peteso Cannon
Hamilton makes the move north.

Luke Hamilton, who started his first test for Scotland last night against the USA in Houston, looks to be on his way out of Welford Road.

RugbyPass understands that the 26-year-old who made two previous appearances for his country from the bench has opted to make the move north to join Pro14 side Edinburgh.

He joins at a good time, with Edinburgh enjoying a resurgence this season under the guidance of Richard Cockerill, where they reached the Pro14 quarterfinals, the last eight of the Challenge Cup and qualified for next seasons Heineken European Cup.

They also look intent to build on this momentum, having already signed Scottish captain John Barclay.

Barclay's move to Edinburgh from the start of the 2018-19 campaign was announced last November.

Although his homecoming has been marred by an injury picked up for the Scarlets against Glasgow in the Semi-final of the Pro14 last month.

Barclay will certainly miss the beginning of next season and is also viewed as a potential doubt for Scotland's November internationals given the severity of his injury.
