Matt Giteau reveals rugby pet hate and it strikes a chord on Twitter
Former Wallaby Matt Giteau has revealed one of his rugby pet hates and it has struck a chord on Twitter.
Giteau who has a following of over 189,000 followers on the social media site is not scared of speaking his mind on the platform.
Giteau tweeted that the behaviour of some rugby players after shipping a loss was a pet peeve for the former Wallaby, who was known throughout his career for his ultra-competitive approach to the game.
"Huge pet hate of mine is players laughing and joking around after losing a game. As a spectator and player I just can’t stand it," he wrote.
His tweet resonated on Twitter, with both players and fans alike, coming hot on the heals after losses for both the Rebels and the Waratahs.
Giteau could be set for a return to Australian Rugby. Wallabies coach Michael Cheika is set to unveil his mystery World Cup attack coach with less than 100 days until the Japan rugby tournament, and Giteau is one of the names that has been thrown into the mix as well as Waratahs coach Daryl Gibson and Rebels assistant Shaun Berne, and fellow former Wallaby Brian Smith.
Cheika is believed to have had someone in mind for the past month.
Speaking at a Melbourne Rebels function ahead of the final round of Super Rugby, DoR Scott Johnson said he felt the World Cup would be the most hotly contested but the Wallabies would be in the mix.
“I think New Zealand’s dominance is probably a little closer than it was in previous World Cups and I wouldn’t be surprised if the winner lost a pool game,” Johnson said.
“There’s five or six teams who could win but it’s a fickle competition in favour of us – the weather will be good and the decks will be fast and that will suit us.”
Former Wallabies captain Stirling Mortlock, who was also part of the guest panel, turned up the heat on Johnson and said he needed to make his mark on the Test side if they were to succeed.

Yeah, Perofeta's injury opened the door for Love to debut. Love's injury in NPC ruled him out of the Bledisloe Cup matches, but Robertson saw potential in him, so he kept him around for the EOYT. However, Perofeta's recovery meant he could return, hence Love being played on the Wing.
Robertson's attitude was just pissing me off near the end of the year, with how he'd go around complimenting the new guys as if he'd always seen potential in them, despite only giving them a chance due to injuries.
