Mitchell one of many to call out Folau's greed
Drew Mitchell has taken to Twitter to criticise Israel Folau's Go fund me campaign, saying it's no longer about religion, but rather a question of greed.
Comparing Folaus's campaign to several more worthy causes on the funding platform, Mitchell highlights that Folau's 'fight' is very much of his own choosing, unlike that of several other campaigns for life-saving treatment.
Folau is asking his followers to fund legal action against Rugby Australia following his sacking for reportedly breaking the terms of his contract. Many fans are questioning why anyone would contribute to the campaign, given Folau's existing wealth.
The campaign has already raised $313k despite the conditions clearly stating that in making a contribution, users acknowledge that there will be no obligations on Israel Folau to apply the funds in any particular way with respect to his legal action.
Strange times.

Go to commentsRassie should be "miles ahead" of Razor, he's been involved with the Boks as full-time Director of Rugby since 2017. And the Boks should be ahead of the current ABs, they have kept all of their superstars.
Clearly, we are rebuilding from the floor up. But the one place that the Boks are not "miles ahead" is on the paddock. A brand new, relatively untested coaching team, with a new team still in the making, came close in Sth Africa.
Change takes time. Whatever this magic instant innovation potion is you allude to, it doesn't exist. Just ask Rassie. It's taken the Boks years to develop. I've no doubt Razor will get us there.
